The roles:

There are three levels of open positions within Cloud Systems: the Cloud Systems Administrator, Cloud System Engineer, and Cloud System Architect. These positions work as part of teams that ensure that the infrastructure will provide 99.999% reliability to CaaS customers.

Cloud Systems Administrator - Responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring and maintaining all equipent located within Interactive Intelligence's hosted facilities that provide the Cloud based service offerings. Requires extensive experience with Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure, MS SQL, virtual server environments and storage area networks (SAN). The Cloud System Administrator is responsible for managing routine maintenance and upgrades, will be the first point of escalation for the Network Operations Center (NOC) systems administrators and proactively monitors the production environment driving issues to resolution.

Cloud Systems Engineer - Responsible for monitoring and maintaining all equipment located within the Communication as a Service (CaaS) data center facilities. CaaS offers award-winning contact center software as a hosted service throughout the world delivered via state-of-the-art data center and computing technologies. The Cloud System Engineer will be responsible for proactively monitoring the production environment and driving customer issues to resolution.

Cloud System Architect - Responsible for working as part of a team that designs, builds, documents and maintains the overall network and data center architecture that is used to deliver the Cloud Service offerings. This is a senior role and highly technical. It requires a great deal of knowledge of hosting across multiple environments. This role is responsible for evaluating new data centers, designing, implementing, and documenting the core infrastructure within those data centers. This individual is responsible for ensuring that the technical infrastructure will provide optimal manageability for the CaaS operations team.

The requirements:

For each of these positions, we are seeking a range of 2 - 8+ years of related work experience. Hands-on infrastructure experience is necessary in a large data center environment (ideally 1000 devices or more).  A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or related technical discipline is preferred. Must be able to work in a team environment, take initiative and be proactive, work independently, and be resourceful. 

Cloud System Administrator: 2+ years experience in a systems administration or engineering role. Strong working knowledge of Windows 2003 and 2008 server OS (Microsoft certifications preferred), managing and administering virtual server farms (Hyper-V experience preferred). Experience with management and administration of Storage ARea Networks (Netapp experience preferred).

Cloud System Engineer:  3 - 5+ years related work experience. Windows 2008 Server Operating experience or Cisco networking experience. Desire to learn advanced networking, server, storage and virtualization technologies. Experience with data center infrastructure technologies. Understanding and experience with virtual server environments. Experience with IP networking and storage technologies.

Cloud System Architect: At least 8+ years experience with LAN and WAN architectures and technologies; or equivalent work experience. CCIP or CCNP certification is preferred. Experience managing large scale architectural design projects. Network and/or data center experience in a 24/7 production environment. Excellent consultative, mentoring and negotiation skills. Excellent communication, customer service and documentation skills. Ability to understand system requirements and business drivers and priorities, and integrate these requirements into overall network and data center design. Ability to work independently in a self-directed manner and collaboratively as a team leader or member. Ability to create and implement detailed action plans.

Travel will be approximately 20%.
